VIENNA – In a video interview at ECR 2026 Prof. Ioana Gheonea, chair of the Young ESR Committee, says that Young radiologists must not only adapt to rapid technological change but also actively help shape the future of the field.
Gheonea, a professor at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova, also talked about the growing role of AI in radiology. While AI can improve workflow and support decision-making, the real risk lies not in using the technology but in trusting it blindly without clinical judgment or ethical oversight, she states.
