Week in Review: More from RöKo 2026 | AI and breast cancer risk prediction | Lung cancer detection

Dear AuntMinnie Europe member,

Our coverage of RöKo 2026 was very popular among AuntMinnie Europe readers last week. And at the top of the list was Associate Editor Claudia Tschabuschnig’s interview in Liepzig with Stefan Schaller of Siemens Healthineers about prevention and integrated care pathways. Our German version can be found here.

We also had a video interview with Professor Frank Wacker, DeGIR President, and DRG President-elect, on opportunities for interventional radiology (German version here). You can access our full coverage of RöKo 2026 here.

AI continues to show promise for predicting future breast cancer risk. A Swedish team recently shared their results with a 10-year mammography-based AI risk model.

For the second straight week, the use of AI to aid in lung cancer detection generated headlines. Following the previous week’s review of commercially available lung nodule analysis AI software, a new study also found substantial performance variability among AI software for detecting lung cancer on chest x-rays.

See below for our other top stories from the week.
