Radiopharmaceutical developer Nuclidium has entered a long-term strategic partnership with NorthStar Medical Technologies, which will produce copper-67 (Cu-67) and provide radiopharmaceutical manufacturing services for Nuclidium’s therapy programs from clinical development through commercialization.
Cu-67 is the therapeutic half of Nuclidium’s theranostics platform, which pairs it with copper-61 (Cu-61) for diagnostic imaging. The company’s lead candidates are NU101 for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) and NU201 for metastatic breast cancer. Nuclidium plans to begin several Cu-67 therapy studies in both indications in the coming months, company officials said.
NorthStar will do the work at its campus in Beloit, WI, which combines Cu-67 production, cGMP manufacturing, and commercial-scale infrastructure. The integrated setup is intended to reduce supply-chain complexity and speed program execution, according to NorthStar.
