Eckert & Ziegler Brazil, a subsidiary of Eckert & Ziegler, has secured an agreement with TerThera for the supply of terbium-161 (Tb-161) for radioligand therapy in South America.
Under the deal, TerThera will provide non-carrier-added Tb-161 produced under good manufacturing practice standards to Eckert & Ziegler Brazil. The isotope’s emission of Auger electrons may improve treatment of primary and micrometastatic cancers, according to the companies.
The supply will also allow pharmaceutical developers and clinical institutions in Brazil to investigate combining Tb-161 with peptides, antibodies, and fibroblast activation protein inhibitors for a range of cancers.
