Mevion Medical Systems has reached an agreement with Acıbadem Healthcare Group to install its S250-Fit proton therapy system in Istanbul. The installation will establish the first proton therapy program in Türkiye's private healthcare sector, according to the vendor.
The system combines Mevion's compact proton accelerator and Hyperscan pencil-beam scanning technology with Leo Cancer Care's Marie upright patient positioning system with integrated CT imaging, and RaySearch Laboratories' RayStation treatment planning system.
Meditel Healthcare, Mevion's partner in Türkiye and the surrounding region, will handle local project execution, installation coordination, and technical support. Mevion and Acıbadem will also collaborate with Acıbadem University to provide clinical training for oncology professionals in the region, the company said.
