Hot shots from Istanbul: Report from ESNR 2025

Dr. Gennaro D'Anna
Oct 17, 2025

AI was the thread weaving through nearly every session of the 48th annual meeting of the European Society of Neuroradiology (ESNR) at the first-ever Joint Congress of the Asian-Oceanian, European, and Turkish Societies of Neuroradiology. The meeting was held from 17 to 21 September at the Istanbul Congress Center (ICC).

The joint congress comprised the 48th ESNR annual meeting, along with the 15th congress of the Asian-Oceanian Society of Neuroradiology and Head & Neck Radiology (AOSNHNR), and the 34th annual meeting of the Turkish Society of Neuroradiology (TSNR).

From keynote addresses to scientific symposia, speakers underscored how AI is reshaping everybody's approach to diagnostics, image interpretation, workflow optimization, and beyond. The congress attracted over 1,400 participants and was presided over by Profs. Mehmet Cem Calli, E. Turgut Tali, and Gülgün Yilmaz Ovali. The event marked a new high point for the ESNR annual meetings.
