U.K. teleradiology group Medica Group has revealed it recruited a net of 58 radiologists during 2017, including 39 in the second half of the year. As of 31 December, Medica had 306 contracted specialists, including radiographers and rheumatologists.
In a preliminary trading update, the company said its revenues for the year (end-31 December) are expected to increase by approximately 18% in comparison with 2016, driven by higher demand for its NightHawk and Cross Sectional services. Capacity constraints during the period resulted in the demand being modestly below expectations in the fourth quarter, it noted.
"With the momentum we are seeing across service lines and anticipated additional recruitment, we expect continued strong double-digit growth in 2018, albeit from a modestly lower base," said Medica CEO John Graham in a statement.
Medica will release its final 2017 results on 12 March.
