ProbeHunter, Clarius partner on research probe adapters

Swedish ultrasound probe testing firm ProbeHunter is partnering with Canadian firm Clarius Mobile Health to supply adapters for Clarius' new ultrasound research platform.

ProbeHunter will develop and market adapters that let researchers connect probes from other vendors' cart-based and laptop-based ultrasound systems to a Clarius wireless handheld scanner, according to the companies.

Clarius' research platform gives users raw radiofrequency and in-phase and quadrature data, which is the ultrasound signal before it becomes an image. Researchers can also control how the probe transmits and receives, from a whole frame down to a single pulse. The platform will be generally available with Clarius version 13.1, Clarius said.
