Siemens Healthcare has launched its Fusion series, a line of affordable radiography systems, with the introduction of the Luminos Fusion and the Multix Fusion.
Luminos Fusion is a new fluoroscopy system offering high image quality at low dose. It also may be used for digital subtraction angiography (DSA), tomography, or upright exams via a bucky wall stand.
The system operates at the lowest radiation dose possible using Siemens Combined Applications to Reduce Exposure (CARE) settings. The unit also features a compact table design and an integrated control room panel, enabling the system to be used with patients who have limited mobility. Its single-click cassette changing, touch-sensitive joystick, and touch-based user interface are designed to improve ease of use, according to Siemens.
The Multix Fusion system is available as both a digital system and an analog version that can be upgraded to digital later. The system also features a flat-panel digital detector and bucky wall stand, with high contrast provided by the company's DiamondView Plus postprocessing tools. Its flexible tube allows for 180 cm of vertical movement, and a height-adjustable table provides 190 cm of coverage.
Both systems are sold in Europe.
