Siemens Healthineers is investing £26 million (€30 million) in a new U.K. radiopharmacy designed to deliver eight times the output of a single conventional Siemens Radiopharma facility.
The new radiopharmacy is located in Dunstable, England, and will house two high-energy cyclotrons, multiple clean rooms and hot cells, purpose-built dispatch areas, and a quality control laboratory, with duplicate backups built throughout, according to Siemens. Its location was selected to support same-day delivery of PET radiopharmaceuticals to centers across the U.K., the company said.
Siemens Healthineers operates more than 60 radiopharmacies worldwide, including 18 across Europe, the announcement noted, adding that the Dunstable facility is designed to support future theranostics agents.
