GE HealthCare (GEHC) is starting a clinical evaluation program for its StarGuide GX digital SPECT/CT system at five institutions on three continents.
Participating sites will assess image quality, quantitative performance, dynamic imaging, and workflow at the following:
- Hadassah Medical Center, Israel
- Mayo Clinic, U.S.
- Oncopole Claudius Regaud – Institut Universitaire du Cancer de Toulouse, France
- Peking University First Hospital, China
- Rambam Health Care Campus, Israel
StarGuide GX uses dual-sided cadmium zinc telluride detectors and a dual-collimator design intended to eliminate manual collimator exchanges, according to the company. In research settings, it may also be evaluated for imaging alpha-emitting radionuclides such as actinium-225, GEHC said.
The system received the CE Mark in November 2025 and is pending U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance.
