Further evidence of Ukraine’s ongoing commitment to medical education was provided by the two-day conference “Modern Cardiovascular Interventions: Lviv Forum,” which attracted around 360 onsite attendees and 870 virtual delegates.
Held on 13 and 14 June, the meeting brought together experts from across Ukraine (from nearly all regions) as well as Poland, Italy, the Czech Republic, and the U.S. There were representatives from the Jagiellonian University in KrakĂłw, Poland, Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S., and other institutions.

The conference was free of charge, and it was streamed on YouTube, making the link shareable. On the first day, the focus was on content for Ukrainian-speaking participants, while on the second day, the audience was primarily international. To date, there have been more than 2,700 views (first day) and 1,300 views (second day), according to the organizers.
The main aims were to promote new techniques and best practices and to support Ukrainian doctors in advancing their clinical practice, taking into account the high rate of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in the country. Continuing Medical Education certificates were available for purchase, with all the proceeds being donated to a mobile military hospital.
“Even organizing conferences, we remember and are sincerely grateful to those whose bravery and sacrifice make it possible for us to continue learning, growing, and improving patient care,” the organizers noted in a joint statement.
Senior officers and speakers participated in the two-day meeting.
The organizers of the meeting were Heart Center Lviv and Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University. The educational partners were Global Medical Knowledge Alliance, SMART Medical Aid, and UA-MED.
