MARS Bioimaging highlighted the first clinical deployment of its MARS Extremity Imaging System at Christchurch, Australia-based practice Reform Radiology.
The installation is the first following U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance of the system in March, the company said. The MARS Extremity Imaging System is a portable photon-counting CT scanner for upper extremity imaging that delivers high-resolution 3D color-enabled x-ray imaging with sub-0.1 mm resolution and can differentiate bone, cartilage, soft tissue, blood vessels, and metallic implants, according to MARS Bioimaging.
Reform Radiology will serve as a reference site to support clinical adoption in key markets including the U.S., which MARS Bioimaging identifies as its priority international market, the company noted.
