United Imaging Healthcare displayed its range of PET/CT scanners at the European Association of Nuclear Medicine annual congress, held recently in Vienna.

The series includes three new scanners: the uMI Panorama, the uMI Panorama GS, and the NeuroEXPLORER. All of the scanners are equipped with an integrated molecular imaging technology platform named uExcel designed to enhance system performance, imaging capabilities, and overall functionality, the company said.

The uMI Panorama GS is the flagship product of the series and has a 148-cm axial field of view (AFOV), which facilitates whole-body imaging in a single bed position, United said.

The uMI Panorama features a National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) resolution of 2.9 mm, a 35-cm AFOV, and a 194-picoseconds timing resolution, the vendor said. The scanner was officially unveiled at SNMMI 2023 and has already been installed at one institution, the Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, United said.

The NeuroEXPLORER (NX) was developed through partnerships involving Yale University, the University of California, Davis, and United Imaging, and is designed to advance brain PET protocols and applications, according to the vendor.
