Canon Medical Systems Europe is partnering with U.K.-based startup Fraiya to introduce AI-powered workflow support for prenatal ultrasound in Europe.
The collaboration pairs Canon's ultrasound imaging platforms with Fraiya's AI software layer to support clinicians during examinations, focusing on the mid-trimester anomaly scan, according to the company. Capabilities include real-time workflow assistance, automated image capture, biometric measurements, and scan completeness guidance.
Fraiya's vendor-flexible platform integrates into existing clinical workflows without disrupting established scanning practices, according to the companies. The technology was developed with King's College London and Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, with ongoing clinical evaluation through a Fraiya study in the U.K.
