FDG-PET helps forecast outcome in neuroendocrine tumors

FDG-PET/CT can be used to classify neuroendocrine tumor patients into different prognostic categories for peptide receptor radionuclide therapy, German researchers have found. The decision to perform FDG-PET/CT should be based on the grading, time course of the disease, speed of progression, total tumor mass, and other criteria, they say.
