The European Board of Radiology (EBR) has released its preliminary calendar for the 2026 European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) exams.
The EDiR is a certification of excellence developed by the EBR and has proven to be an excellent tool for training institutions across Europe and abroad, the EBR said. Its knowledge base is defined in the ESR European Training Curriculum for Radiology (Levels I-II).
Confirmed exam dates and locations are as follows:
- 24 January: Barcelona, Spain; Dubai, United Arab Emirates
- 29 January: Warsaw, Poland
- 3 March: Vienna (the day before ECR 2026 begins)
- 15 March: New Delhi and Chennai, India
- 12 April: Islamabad, Pakistan
- 13 May: Brussels
- 14 May: Warsaw
- 16 May: Cartagena de Indias, Colombia; Ankara, Turkey
- 26 June: Barcelona
- 17 September: Mainz, Germany; Warsaw
- 26 September: Sinaia, Romania; Budapest, Hungary
- 16 October: Cairo
- 1 November: New Delhi and Chennai, India
- 13 November: Bratislava, Slovakia; Ljubljana, Slovenia; Paris
- 3 December: Leuven, Belgium
EDiR Training Evaluation for Heads of Training who wish to monitor the progress of their residents is also confirmed for the following dates:
- 11 June
- 5 November
Residents will be assessed in multiple categories and will receive instant results (pass/fail and average score), along with a report on their performance across the different subspecialties, delivered by email. Heads of Training will receive detailed reports on their residents’ performance.
Additionally, the EBR has confirmed dates for the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) Simulation, a practice test session that offers the closest experience to an actual EDiR exam. The practice test will be followed by a webinar chaired by an EDiR examiner, providing candidates with the valuable opportunity to consult directly with the examiner and resolve any doubts regarding the exam, the EBR said.
The dates for the EDiR simulation are as follows:
- 16 April
- 20 August
- 10 December
