Ion Beam Applications (IBA) has been selected to provide proton therapy equipment for a Polish therapy center, the company announced.
Under terms of the 15 million euro contract, IBA will supply equipment to the Henryk Niewodniczanski Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences' new proton therapy center in Krakow. The firm has already been involved in the first two phases of construction of the center; for the third phase, IBA will provide a second gantry treatment room equipped with its pencil-beam scanning (PBS) technology.
IBA also announced it has received a repayment of 31.5 million euros from the Agenzia Provinciale Per la Protonterapia center in Trento, Italy, for a 2009 loan.
