Thales has signed agreements with investment management firm Sonae to purchase two European cybersecurity companies, S21sec and Excellium, for 120 million euros.
The move will strengthen the firm's incident detection and response services and its physical reach into Europe, specifically in Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg, and Belgium, Thales said. S21sec and Excellium together generated 59 million euros in sales in 2021, according to Thales.
The acquisitions are subject to regulatory approvals, but they will likely close in the second half of 2022.
