Belgian software developer Materialise has released version 14 of its Mimics 3D image processing software.
Mimics 14 features the integration of digital computer-aided detection (CAD)-like technology, allowing for design of implants and surgical guides from a patient's CT or MR data, according to the Leuven-based firm.
This functionality, called 3-matic, incorporates "remeshing" and design functionality based on anatomical data, Materialise said. The 3-matic application can be launched from within Mimics.
Other new features include a link to surgical navigation, faster scan alignment by using the patient coordinate system, and some new spine options, Mimics said.
