Hitachi launches new version of Oasis at ECR

Hitachi Medical Systems has launched an updated version of its Oasis 1.2-tesla open MR system at this week's ECR 2015 in Vienna.

Features include a 270° viewing angle that allows the patient an unobstructed panoramic view; an extra-wide, 82-cm patient table with in-gantry lateral movement and Hitachi's SoftSound technology for silent gradients; AutoPose, which identifies and places main scan slice locations; and additive arrangement gradient echo (ADAGE), which uses combinations of multiple echoes to create high signal-to-noise ratios and contrast-to-noise images, Hitachi said.

Also at ECR, Hitachi has released EggQus, a compact, portable ultrasound bone densitometry system. EggQus is powered by rechargeable batteries and produces measurements in three seconds, Hitachi said. The company plans to begin delivery of the device this month.
