Affidea has acquired Zentrum für Integrative Onkologie (ZIO), an integrative oncology provider in German-speaking Switzerland.
The deal strengthens Affidea's outpatient cancer care network, according to the firm. ZIO operates six locations across German-speaking Switzerland with more than 20 oncology and hematology specialists, offering treatment alongside complementary care such as psycho-oncology, nutritional counseling, and oncology exercise therapy, according to the company. ZIO's existing medical teams, services, and partnerships with referring physicians and hospitals will continue following the acquisition.
The acquisition expands Affidea's oncology and hematology capabilities and connects them with its existing network of diagnostic imaging, pathology, laboratory, and genetics services, as well as breast medicine, urology, gynecology, and gastroenterology specialties, the company said. Affidea now operates 46 centers across Switzerland with more than 1,000 employees, including 200 physicians.
