Mindray Medical International has launched a new point-of-care ultrasound system, ME8.
The device has a weight of 6.6 lb and a thickness of 1.7 inches, making it one of the lightest and thinnest laptop-based machines in the industry, Mindray said. ME8 has a sealed user interface for ease with cleaning and disinfection.
The scanner also comes with software-based beamformer technology, Zone Sonography Technology+, and artificial intelligence (AI) software Smart B-Line, Smart VTI, and Smart IVC to help assess volume status and fluid responsiveness in critically ill patients.
In addition, eSpacial Navi and iNeedle+ mean ME8 can be used with needle-guided procedures, and when used with the U-bank, it provides up to eight hours of battery life.
