NHS plans artificial intelligence lab

The National Health Service (NHS) England plans to launch a national artificial intelligence (AI) lab with 250 million pounds (269.2 million euros) in funding, according to a report by the BBC News.

The lab will be responsible for increasing the role of AI within the NHS. England has the power to be one of the leading countries in the world in using AI, Health Secretary Matt Hancock told BBC News.

"I want the NHS, through its AI lab, to actually be searching itself for new insights that are going to save lives," Hancock said.
