
Computer-aided detection (CAD) software developer iCAD has received the CE Mark for version 3.0 of its ProFound AI for digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) software.
The new release delivers a 10% improvement in specificity while maintaining the software's high sensitivity, according to the vendor. In addition, ProFound AI for DBT 3.0 features 40% faster processing times on the company's new PowerLook platform, iCAD said.
After analyzing each DBT image, the software detects malignant soft-tissue densities and calcifications, assigning "certainty of finding" for each detection, and it also provides an overall score for each case that represents the algorithm's confidence of malignancy.
