
Using artificial intelligence (AI) to evaluate chest CT scans during the COVID-19 pandemic cut report turnaround time by about 30%, according to a study conducted in Russia by RadLogics and a Moscow imaging facility.
The reduction in turnaround time when scans were processed with RadLogic's AI-powered COVID-19 tool was equivalent to seven minutes per case, according to results presented by RadLogics and the Moscow Center for Diagnostics & Telemedicine at ECR 2021.
The study included approximately 128,000 chest CT scans reported by 570 participating radiologists at over 130 hospitals and outpatient clinics in Moscow. About 36,000 CT scans were processed by RadLogics' image analysis tool.
