Merantix Healthcare of Berlin has received the CE Mark for its artificial intelligence (AI) software for breast cancer screening.
The company's Vara software filters out healthy mammography images, reducing radiologists' workload. Vara is thought to be Germany's first approved AI software for cancer screening, and it is being installed at facilities in five European countries, according to the firm.
