There's a growing realization among radiologists that they must raise their profile and become more visible, and healthcare IT appears to have an essential role to play in this process. The emergence and integration of electronic patient records and clinical decision-support systems in hospitals, as well as the growing use of RIS/PACS for the timeliness of image and report delivery, and the development of software tools to assist therapy, can all help here.
