
13 marzo 2019 -- La Agencia Internacional de la Energía Atómica (IAEA) ha lanzado una versión en español de su curso de manejo de la dosis de radiación en la TC.
Originariamente solo disponible en inglés, este curso de cinco horas se compone de 11 módulos que cubren diversos temas relacionados con las mejores prácticas en la TC, incluyendo:
- Usos adecuados de la TC
- Métodos para optimizar los protocolos del examen
- Técnicas para la reducción de la dosis radiológica
- Seguimiento de la dosis radiológica
El curso proporciona también información general sobre las pautas para la derivación, explicaciones de los parámetros técnicos para el examen, y protocolos de TC específicos para personas especialmente vulnerables al riesgo de radiación, como los niños y las mujeres embarazadas. Según la Agencia, más de 2000 personas han hecho ya el curso desde su presentación en 2017.
Los participantes que realicen un breve examen al final del curso recibirán un certificado de aprovechamiento. Las personas interesadas pueden inscribirse para el curso en línea.

Undifferentiated spindle cell sarcoma was diagnosed at biopsy, with residual leiomyosarcoma in the surgical specimen after neoadjuvant therapy. The mass is heterogeneous at both B-mode ultrasound (similar to patient A) and MRI (coronal T2-weighted spectral attenuated inversion recovery [SPAIR]; T1-weighted pre-contrast and postcontrast imaging), which even shows uptake after the administration of paramagnetic contrast material, which is traditionally suggestive of malignancy. Low values at SMI and elastography are suggestive of benignity.
