Siemens to upgrade ultrasound units at Erding hospital

Siemens Healthineers has entered into a technology agreement with the Klinikum Landkreis Erding in Germany to replace the hospital’s ultrasound devices.

Under the contract, Siemens will replace all ultrasound equipment in all departments -- a total of 29 systems -- at the hospital over the next eight years, with an option to extend the agreement for an additional two years.

The company will be responsible for the supply, installation, training, and service of the 29 new systems, the partners said in a statement.

With two sites in Erding and Dorfen in the Bavarian district of Erding, the Klinikum Landkreis Erding is a municipal hospital with 330 inpatient beds and 12 outpatient places in its pain day clinic, as well as over 1,100 employees.

The facility is also an academic teaching hospital of the Technical University of Munich, as well as two vocational schools for nursing and nursing assistants.
