Prof. Dr. Ken Herrmann has been selected as the next editor in chief of the Journal of Nuclear Medicine.

Herrmann is currently chair of nuclear medicine at Universitätsklinikum Essen in Germany and has more than two decades of international leadership experience in nuclear medicine and theranostics, the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) said in a statement.
His background spans clinical expertise, translational research, and strategic management, with experience in Europe, North America, and Asia. He practiced for almost a decade in the U.S. at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), the SNMMI said.
Herrmann will begin the five-year term on 1 January 2027 and succeeds Dr. Johannes Czernin, professor and vice chair of the Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology at UCLA, who held the post for 10 years.
