Oxford, U.K.-based Adaptix Limited has obtained the CE mark for Ortho350, a mobile digital tomosynthesis (DT) system for point-of-care orthopedic imaging.
Ortho350 is designed to image upper and lower extremities, including hands, elbows, shoulders, knees, and feet -- at a lower radiation dose than traditional CT systems, according to the company. High-resolution 3D x-ray imaging offers clearer images than 2D x-ray systems, with advantages including fewer acquisitions and faster patient workflow, Adaptix noted.
The CE certification enables the company to market the device across European and U.K. healthcare markets, including primary care, emergency departments, and outpatient settings, Adaptix said.
