Canon Medical Systems plans to accelerate its photon-counting CT (PCCT) clinical research efforts on a worldwide basis.
In April, the company began joint research on PCCT with the National Cancer Center Hospital East in Kashiwa City, Chiba, Japan. It has also signed partnerships with Radboud University Medical Center (UMC) in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, and Hiroshima University in Hiroshima, Japan. The Radboud UMC research will be led by Prof. Mathias Prokop, while the Hiroshima research will be led by Prof. Kazuo Awai, Canon said.
