The South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust in the U.K. will be receiving a relocatable CT scan unit as part of NHS England's COVID-19 recovery plan.
To meet increasing demand for chest CT scans, NHS England has allocated one of 15 specially commissioned relocatable CT scan units from Canon Medical Systems to Stratford Hospital, a community site in the West Midlands. The CT scan units are temporary scanning facilities that feature a CT scanner, control room, and patient changing area, according to Canon.
Canon said that the unit's cost has been met by NHS England and NHS Improvement's COVID-19 recovery fund, with installation, staffing, and maintenance picked up by the Trust for the 18-month period.
