Philips unveiled its latest ultra-high-gradient 3.0-tesla MRI system, Titanion MR, at the ISMRM 2026 annual meeting in Cape Town, South Africa.

Titanion MR is designed to advance MRI beyond anatomical and functional imaging by enabling quantitative and biologically informative imaging approaches, according to the company. The system features a gradient strength of 150 mT/m at a slew rate of 250 T/m/s, a 55-cm field of view for whole-body imaging coverage, and low eddy current design intended to reduce image distortion for quantitative measurements.

With its SmartSpeed Precise software, the system can achieve up to 80% sharper images and up to 3× faster scan times compared to conventional imaging, Philips said. Target applications include neurology and oncology.

The system is a work in progress and is not CE-marked or available for sale in any jurisdiction.
