The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR), along with other medical societies, has co-published the acute oncology consultant and specialty and associate specialist (SAS) doctor job planning appendix.
The RCR co-developed the appendix with the UK Acute Oncology Society (UKAOS) Consultant Group and the Association of Cancer Physicians (ACP). The RCR and ACP will promote acute oncology services as a recognized subspecialty with formalized job plans, supporting oncologists.
The appendix aims to equip specialists with the expertise and leadership needed to advance both service delivery and research across cancer facilities and affiliated acute hospital sites, according to the RCR.
