LONDON - Dutch radiologist Dr. Tim Leiner, PhD, surprised many people in September 2021 when he took up a new post at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, U.S. We caught up with the immediate past president of International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) and asked him what lay behind his decision.

Leiner is a cardiovascular radiologist at Mayo Clinic and a professor of radiology at Utrecht University Medical Center, the Netherlands. His main research interests concern the development and implementation of new cardiovascular MR and CT techniques. He will take over as the new editor in chief of the Journal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (JCMR) in January 2023.
