October 1, 2021 -- The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) in the U.K. is requesting sustainable investment in imaging and cancer services in a spending review representation submission.

The submission calls for the following to prioritize in the next three years:

  • A properly staffed imaging and cancer workforce
  • Imaging and cancer machines
  • National Health Service (NHS) IT that is fit for purpose and widespread adoption of new ways of working

The college is also calling on the U.K. Treasury to finance the staff support and retention schemes outlined in last year's installment of the NHS People Plan, as well as continuing investment in artificial intelligence under development in the college's specialty areas.
