Imaging technology developer MR Solutions has installed its 7-tesla PET/MRI scanner at the University of Tromsø (UiT) in Norway.
The high field, dry magnet system is designed for medical research related to inflammation, oncology, and nephritis. Researchers at UiT intend to use the scanner for advanced research into gliomas and other conditions.

Image courtesy of MR Solutions.The system enables PET and MRI images together or separately for both soft-tissue contrast and molecular imaging, and it features a large axial 15-cm field-of-view with the PET module and a 24 cm bore with MRI alone, according to the vendor.
