Guerbet is set to launch two new microcatheters for peripheral embolization procedures: SeQure and DraKon.

SeQure is a reflux control microcatheter that features side slits for the outflow of contrast media to create a fluid barrier to reduce microsphere reflux. The microcatheter is designed to enhance the delivery of treatment to a target vessel and minimize the risk of damage to surrounding tissue.

DraKon, a peripheral microcatheter without the side slits, is designed to optimize flexibility and torque to improve clinicians' performance in tracking the procedure.

Both microcatheters received the CE Mark this month and clearance by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in January. They also are registered in Hong Kong, New Zealand, and Thailand. Guerbet plans to register the microcatheters in Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Vietnam within the next two years.
