How COVID-19 is also impacting breast imaging

Facing new challenges during the pandemic

Who would ever have thought a respiratory virus could also put mammography at risk? Although COVID-19 is not directly related to mammography, it is impacting breast care, but in different ways that one might think. Mammography departments are facing completely new challenges: having to change routines and workflows to comply with the new sanitary standards, triage their appointments or introduce new diagnostic methods like tele-mammography consultations. In these challenging times, our breast imaging partners must deal with working and living with the new virus. We, as Siemens Healthineers, will stand side by side to support you and your patients.
