Moscow has established the MosMedAI platform to standardize healthcare AI. A total of 74 regions have already joined.
According to the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine of the Moscow Health Department (MHD), the standards were developed to regulate the use of neural networks in healthcare management, remote monitoring, predictive analytics, and clinical decision-support systems, as well as assist with the resolution of ethical conflicts.
Through the platform, doctors can analyze an unlimited number of images automatically, with access to technical support and monthly quality control services, monitored by specialists from the Diagnostics and Telemedicine Center of the Moscow Department of Healthcare.
Seven national standards and two pre-standards were developed in 2024 to regulate the safe use of medical AI in Russia, establishing a framework for the use of neural networks in healthcare management, remote monitoring, predictive analytics, and medical decision-support systems, as well as guidance in resolving ethical issues. The standards took effect on 1 January 2025.
More than 2,000 healthcare organizations throughout Russia are already using the platform, according to the MHD.
