French AI firm Avicenna secures funding of 9M euros

Artificial intelligence (AI) software developer Avicenna.ai has wrapped up a $10 million (9.4 million euros) series A funding round.

The round included backing by existing investors Innovacom and CEMAG Invest. Avicenna.ai said it would use the funds to scale up deployment of its software around the world, as well as diversify its offerings in medicine.

The company said that it installed its software applications at more than 140 hospitals in 14 countries across three continents in 2022. Furthermore, it expects to deploy its software at least 30 new sites every month this year.

Founded in 2018, Avicenna.AI was formed through a collaboration between Cyril Di Grandi, a software and medical device expert, and Dr. Peter Chang, a radiologist and AI expert. Its head office is located in La Ciotat, France.
