The Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT) is highlighting its AI position statement, a mentorship program from its flagship journal, and the availability of contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM) in South Australia.
The society's AI position statement proposes criteria by which the implementation and application of AI may be measured. It proposes six key benchmarks: justification, evidence-based, transparency, accountability, quality assurance, and education.

As well, the ASMIRT's Journal of Medical Radiation Sciences (JMRS) has launched a pilot reviewer mentoring program. The program aims to connect authors of JMRS articles with associate editors, who will teach them to review articles through a one-on-one mentorship. Program details are available in the JMRS section of the ASMIRT website.
Finally, the ASMIRT is highlighting the arrival of CEM in South Australia. The modality is already available in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth. ASMIRT acting CEO Min Ku said it is "excellent to see this potentially lifesaving technique now available in Adelaide."
