Image display firm Barco has unveiled MDSC-8258, a 58-inch 4K medical display for image viewing in hybrid operating rooms and interventional suites.
MDSC-8258 features a high-bright, low-power LED backlight and displays 8 megapixels of DICOM-compliant images on a single screen, according to the vendor. It yields a brightness of 700 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 4,000-to-1, Barco said.
The display comes in three versions: a standard model (MDSC-8258 L), a model with a redundant power supply (MDSC-8258 RL), and a model with a redundant power supply and protective front glass (MDSC-8258 RLG).
MDSC-8258 replaces Barco's previous MDSC-8156 surgical display offering. While it has the same overall physical size as its 56-inch predecessor, a reduced bezel size enables a larger screen, Barco said.
