Photonics screens for heart disease
A consortium of companies and research institutes, led by IMEC in Belgium, has recently been awarded 3.6 million euros to develop a mobile, low-cost, noninvasive, point-of-care screening device. It aims to use silicon photonics to allow large-scale screening of populations for cardiovascular disease risk.
