VIENNA - A clutch of recently published research studies has demonstrated the possibility of a link between the administration of gadolinium-based contrast agents and the development of nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF) in patients with renal insufficiency. NEW YORK (Reuters Health), Jun 5 - Seventy-one percent of patients with acute flank pain and suspected urolithiasis have other or additional findings when evaluated with CT, according to a new report. While most of these findings are inconsequential, a minority do require treatment, possibly even immediate intervention.
