Canon releases new Aplio transducer, CT software

Canon Medical Systems has introduced a new 33-MHz linear transducer for its Aplio i800 ultrasound scanner at ECR 2019 in Vienna.

The transducer features the company's Intelligent Dynamic Microslice (iDMS) and Superb Microvascular Imaging (SMI) technologies, which allow clinicians to use Aplio i800 for superficial subcutaneous imaging, exams of small joints, superficial nerves, and superficial vascular evaluations, Canon said.

In other Canon news, the company has also introduced Advanced Intelligent Clear-IQ Engine (AiCE), a deep convolutional neural network image reconstruction software for CT.
