Radiologist and expert on King Richard III dies

Dr. Phil Stone, a retired radiologist in the U.K. and expert on King Richard III, has passed away at the age of 74, according to an article published 16 January on KentOnline.

A radiologist for 25 years at Sheppey, Sittingbourne, and Medway hospitals, Stone was also chairman of The Richard III Society and frequently gave talks on the controversial English monarch, according to the newspaper.

In 2014, two years after the king's remains were discovered beneath a car park in Leicester, Stone said, "I would never suggest Richard was a saint, but I still don't think he was the black-hearted villain of Shakespeare's play."
