Medica Group has acquired Axon Diagnostics and its sister company, Mitis Health, creating what the firm describes as the U.K.'s largest clinical reporting network.
The combined network will support more than 2.5 million patients annually across the majority of NHS Trusts, according to the company. Mitis brings its Clinical Desktop remote diagnostic reporting technology to the group, which is already in use at a number of National Health Service hospital groups, Medica said.
Medica Group, which has operated its clinical reporting network for more than 20 years, said the acquisition will also support the development of AI-enabled reporting and optimized workflows. The integration will be carried out in phases, with clients continuing to work with existing teams while systems are merged, the firm said.
